Jail

The Liberty County Jail is a pretrial detention facility and one of the largest departments in the Sheriff’s Office. It is located at 180 Paul Sikes Drive, Hinesville, Georgia, under the supervision of Mr. Doug Franks, Jail Administrator. The jail has a maximum capacity of 310 inmates, with an average daily population of 260. The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office also maintains an inmate Work Release Program at the Liberty County Jail that once approved, allows male offenders sentenced from thirty days to six (6) months for non-violent offenses, probation violations or court order child support recovery violations to leave the jail on a daily basis to work and pay their court fees, fines and child support. Sentenced inmates may be recommended for the Work Release Program by the courts; Public Defenders Office or the District Attorney’s Office or submit an application to Corporal Donna Vaughn at the Liberty County Jail.
